African Descent Heritage Keepers is a free community program for children age 5-14-15-24 and 25-30 years old and for children (parent/guardian participation required). Youth and family explore multicultural heritage through storytelling, music, movement/dance, and arts & crafts with professional artists. Professional Artists and Parents can spend quality time with children and the youth while engaging in fun and arts and culturally rich activities that incorporate music as an art, cultural therapy for solving community problems.
African Descent Early Keepers Theme: People of African Descent moving forward guided by the past with Sankofa: The African Descent Art Keepers is a hub for children and youth where young learners can explore art, history, multicultural heritage through story-telling, music, movement/dance, and arts & crafts. Professional Artists can spend quality time with youth and young people while engaging in fun and culturally rich activities that developing talents. The youth gather particularly for dialogue on issues in their community using art and music as community based solutions.
African Descent Heritage Keepers is a Cultural space hub for youth and young people∙ It is an hub where young learners can explore multicultural heritage through learning skills in history research, poetry, story-telling, music skills, movement/dance, and arts & crafts and live painting using their past history to imagine the future community development. Parents can spend quality time with their children while engaging in fun and culturally rich activities that incorporate problem-solving, math, and reading skills.

Groups will appreciate the role of African Descent Contemporary Art + our amazing Public History exhibitions on display, and young people spend time in our art Space sharing art history. Descent Community African Descent Heritage Keepers developed in-space art workshops are hands-on interactive arts workshops inspired by our art and history exhibition. These art based workshops are by age are perfectly fit for all young participants of any age or skilled levels fun and educational way for visitors to explores the history, art and exhibition for people of African Descent history in British Columbia.
